Our Mission

At HKCCC, our mission is to continue what our founder A. C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada had started 50 years back and that is to selflessly serve the community in Sydney, primarily the Western region. His teachings and instructions form the preamble and foundation of our organisation.

Our premise is that: it is our consciousness that leads us to live our life the way we do and experience it accordingly. And when we bring spirituality into our consciousness, we gradually enrich and immensely enhance our experience of life.

At HKCCC we are committed to serving the community and give our fellow Sydneysiders the opportunity to refine one’s life experience by bringing eternal joy and genuine happiness through devotion and service towards the Supreme Lord- Lord Krishna.

This is done in many ways such as chanting, kirtan and other congregational and community services.

One whose happiness is within, who is active within, who rejoices within and is illumined within, is actually the perfect mystic. He is liberated in the Supreme, and ultimately he attains the Supreme.

In the Community

We cannot stop our desires because as living entities, desiring is the component part of our constitution. Therefore we cannot give up our desires, but we can purify our desires. Killing of desire is no solution, but curing the desires, diseased condition of desire, is the right solution. As such, therefore, this dust of misunderstanding is cleared off. We can see our real position of life and make steady progress towards the ultimate goal of life. We have forgotten the ultimate goal of our life due to lack of Krishna consciousness.

In ancient India, Vedic knowledge was imparted to kids by Gurus in schools called Gurukul. Gurukul is a combination of two words: Guru and Kul. Guru means Master and Kula means extended family. The Gurus used to consider the students as part of extended family. We, at HKCCC, want the kids to have a similar environment to gain this true knowledge and for this we have various programs running for kids between 5-8 years, 9–14-years and young adolescents. These classes are held on Sunday evening from 5PM onwards.

We are presently based at Rouse Hill Community Centre as our grand Center is under construction and every Sunday evening, we offer free, sanctified, freshly prepared vegetarian food.

We first serve the food to Krishna as a mark of gratitude. This offering is called Bhogam. Once offered to the Lord, the food becomes sanctified and it is now called Prasadam. Prasadam is a Sanskrit word which means mercy of the Lord. What we eat directly impacts our consciousness. And when we eat with gratitude to the Lord for HIS mercy in providing us with food, we purify our entire self, internally and externally.

The people of the congregation express and convey their culture and devotion through Fine Arts, Theatre, Dance, Music, Cinema, Literature and Architecture.

It is expressed in vibrant colors, melodies and enlivening dramatic presentations in tune with their roots in ancient Indian and Vaishnava culture.

ISKCON has also created a community for artists called VANDE ( Vaisnava Arts for a New Devotional Era) to recognise and nurture artistic talent. The aim is to attract the public and patrons of arts through quality presentations.
